Many low priced Ryanair flights are available from Stansted to Bari (30 minutes away) and Brindisi (60 minutes).

From www.ryanair.com click find lowest fares option (midweek to midweek often lower priced than weekends.) There are various car rental companies at both airports - Hertz are usually the cheapest but it is worth shopping around.
